The scariest Roblox horror games, ranked by how many people are actually playing

Search "best Roblox horror games" and you get a lot of top-ten lists that nobody has touched in a year. Some of the games in them are barely played any more, which is a strange thing to recommend to someone who wants to be scared with other people.

So this list is ordered by something checkable: how many people were inside each game the last time we looked.

What counts as horror here

Roblox labels some experiences "Horror" itself, and that label is the starting point. It is not sufficient on its own — plenty of games carry it loosely — so each entry below is included because it is genuinely built around dread, hiding, or being hunted. Obby and "escape" games that use spooky art but play like platformers are excluded, even when Roblox files them near horror.

The list

1. Murder Mystery 2 — 226,405 playing

The one that made the genre mainstream on Roblox, and still by far the biggest. One player is the murderer, one is the sheriff, everyone else is trying to work out which is which before they are stabbed. The horror is social rather than atmospheric: the room is quiet and you do not know who is standing behind you.

2. Forsaken — 89,935 playing

Asymmetric survival. One side hunts, the other side repairs and runs. It leans on Roblox history for its cast, which sounds like a joke until the first chase starts and it very much is not. Forsaken killers, survivors and maps →

3. Evade — 47,516 playing

Not a slasher — a running game. Nextbots chase you at speed through real locations while you try to keep your stamina alive. The comedy of the character models wears off quickly once you are cornered.

4. Flee the Facility — 25,222 playing

The tight, mechanical one. Hack computers, avoid the Beast, get out. It is the most "designed" game on this list: short rounds, clear rules, very little padding.

5. 3008 — 12,519 playing

An open-ended survival game set in an endless furniture store after closing time. The employees turn hostile in the dark. Its horror comes from scale and loneliness rather than jumpscares, and it is the best pick here for building a base with friends.

6. DOORS — 8,600 playing

Hotel corridors, a numbered run of rooms, and entities that each need a different response. Heavily systematised — most of the fear is learning which sound means "hide" and which means "run", and being wrong once.

7. Frigid Dusk — 3,951 playing

Cold-weather survival horror. Smaller than the rest and much less forgiving; the environment is as much the threat as anything hunting you.

8. BUCKSHOT — 3,355 playing

A Roblox take on a shotgun-roulette duel. Barely horror by genre, entirely horror by feeling. Very short sessions.

If you want to be scared with friends specifically

3008 and Flee the Facility are the two that most reward a group who can talk to each other. Murder Mystery 2 works with friends but is arguably better with strangers, because the whole game is reading people you cannot predict.
