⚠️THIS IS THE PRUSSIAN BASE. TO USE ANOTHER STATE, PLEASE NAVIGATE TO THE CORRECT BASE. THIS DESIGN ALSO REQUIRES A PLATE OR A COVER TO BE PLACED ON TOP. "In Stahlgewittern" This M1915 Kugelhelm is the artillery variant of the Imperial German Pickelhaube, distinguished by its characteristic ball finial in place of the infantry spike. Introduced in 1915, the wartime pattern replaced the bright brass and German silver fittings of earlier helmets with chemically oxidised grey steel, both conserving strategic metals and reducing battlefield visibility. The ball finial was removable, reflecting the simplified construction and material economies of the period. This example is of the Prussian artillery pattern and is shown with the chinstrap in the up position.
