"Atravanta is a mysterious dragon found in dark forests and swamps. It has a fluffy body with antennae and frills resembling that of mushrooms. It soars silently at high speeds to catch its prey, before finishing them off with its deadly bite. Atravanta are thought of as bad omens, appearing to those who are ill or right before disaster. The inky secretions they use to mark their territory are highly sought after by artists and writers, due to the strange and grim superstitions surrounding its existence."

The 's name may come from Helvella atra, a species of dark fungus, and "vanta", likely stemming from vantablack, a class of super-black coatings. The design for the was inspired by inky cap mushrooms (specifically Coprinus comatus), cats, and night furies from the How to Train Your Dragon franchise. It was also intended to be a September season dragon to go alongside the returning Amoonita, and was later re-submitted with a minor redesign as a Halloween event dragon, however it ultimately became a Daily Login dragon. On its concept art at the top right, letters reading "uvipplyfmdzhsviv" can be found in vertical orientation. When deciphered with Atbash, it reads "ferkkobunwashere." On its hatch presets art, there is a hidden message found below the Undergrowth hatch preset, although it is currently unknown what it means. The was the third dragon released to be obtainable from the Daily Login rewards system. Atravantas claimed from the Daily Login will only come with their default colors as their hatch presets can only be obtained from the Spinner Egg. The was made breedable on June 27th, 2025, alongside the Corrupted Chronocus, Cosmalisk, Dratheros, Impiavolo, Lum Luenh, and the Vyreas with Wave 6 of the breedable Soul Bound dragons. Despite being of Epic rarity, the has the breeding cooldown that a Rare Soul Bound dragon species would have. This trait is also shared with the Syliru.
