"Lyrias are very outgoing and elegant dragons. Their roars can be described as musical, and when socializing in large groups, they can create sensational harmonies and melodies. Although limbless, Lyrias have fantastic mobility and possess high intelligence. They have wings attached to their heads that enhance their hearing and can sense danger; with this, they can quickly flee from danger. Certain mutated individuals have a single horn on their head that, when struck, acts as a tuning fork, intimidating any enemies. However, these dragons are mostly non-violent and welcome all visitors with elegance and grace to listen to their music. Certain Lyrias are able to attach their string-like whiskers to their tails and strum them to emit a rejunventating aura. A few variants of Lyrias are born with an unlacquered bass pigmentation, making them an especially beautiful sight for dragonwatchers."

The name of the appears to derive from "lyric." The has several music-related elements tied into its design, including sheet music patterning with quaver, semi quaver, and crotchet notes and a treble clef on its chest. Its tongue resembles the triangle musical instrument. The Lyria also features the scroll of orchestral string instruments (not counting the harp) as its tail. The represents the developer and soundtrack composer Gialite. The has permanent black streaks and markings along its body and wings.
