The Quasaldrus' name may derive from the word "quasar". The Quasaldrus emits cloudy, star-like particles from its neck and tail spines. The orbs on the Quasaldrus have permanent Neon material. The Quasaldrus possesses several attributes similar to actual galactic phenomena: Multiple traits may be nods to quasars, which are bright galactic nuclei found in the centers of galaxies. The orbs located on the head, torso, and tail appear to be nuclei. The dragon's title, "Heart of the Cosmos", may allude to the location of quasars. The cloudy particles emitted from the spines resemble interstellar clouds. According to its Dragonpedia entry, the Quasaldrus is closely involved in the formation of new stars from the remnants of old stars. Interstellar clouds originate from dying stars known as red giants. Nebulae, composed of interstellar clouds, serve as regions within galaxies where new stars are born.
