The Quetzaloctli's name is derived from classical Nahuatl Quetzalcōātl, meaning "quetzal feather serpent", and opochtli, meaning "left". Its name is a fusion of the Aztec gods' Quetzalcōātl and Huitzilopochtli. The design of the Quetzaloctli was mainly designed after Huitzilopochtli, the Aztec god of the sun and war. Its serpentine figure comes from Quetzalcōātl, an Aztec god associated with creation and knowledge, among other things. The has permanent Neon material on the sun orb it holds and on the pair of orbs located beneath its primary wings.
