Description

The Void Miner was an exclusive tower mostly gotten by developers of the game and at the time testers of the game. The Void Miner worked similarly to the Farm. At the end of each wave, it would generate a specific number of corruption. This was added to a corruption counter that appeared on the tower itself. Upon reaching 2,000 corruption generated, the Hidden Wave would be guaranteed to happen, even if the requirements were not met, allowing for it to be triggered outside of Fallen mode. If 2,000 corruption was not generated, nothing would happen as corruption had no other purpose.

Strategy

It is recommended to place Void Miner early on in a match so it can acquire as much Corruption as possible.

Patch history

The Void Miner that got into the game is very different from its initial concept. The corruption generated by it originally was not meant for activating Hidden Wave. Instead, it would be used as a currency to unlock additional upgrades for towers. It would have been obtained by beating the Hidden Wave. At some point, the Void Miner was redesigned to be used for activating the Hidden Wave, added to the game as an exclusive tower and then scrapped, leading to its removal in the Overhaul Update. The Void Miner had a set of two placeholder icons. In the Main Lobby, its icons were taken from the Crook Boss. In actual matches, it used icons from the Minigunner instead. In the Main Lobby the Void Miner did not have an actual model. Instead, it was a large grey brick. The Main Lobby had different statistics for the Void Miner, though the only one that could be seen is its placement cost, which was reduced from 800 to 500 there.
