Mimics

All Mimics only spawn on wave 10 or after. Mimics are given 999 Defense for during the first second they spawn. Only one Mimic can spawn per round. For the duration of the Halloween 2023 Event, if a Mimic was not defeated, it would spawn a Grateful Mimic. However, in the case of regular Mimics, you won't gain any progress towards the Enemy Follower if you lose. The spawn rate for Mimics is calculated in waves, for example 1/100 chance means that it has a 1/100 chance to spawn per wave. Mimics, special ones included, are able to spawn on Casual Mode as long as progression is active. However, event mimics only spawn in their respective events on any mode.

Patch history

This is the first enemy to drop rewards upon death. Second being Cap, third being Rowdy, and fourth being Burglar Chip. (Naturally, Cap and Rowdy drop mana, while Burglar Chip drops cookies) An idea that required a chest model was made by the developers then the idea was scrapped. The chest model was revamped for the purpose of the Mimic. The Christmas Mimic is the first event mimic ever made. Additionally, it was also the first mimic to give a skin. Mimics used to gain health after waves but this was removed. Mimic Bot, Fairy Mimic, Business Mimic, Minecart Mimic, Candy Mimic, Gift Mimic, Golden CAT, Wicky and Crab Mimic do not have their designs based on a chest. Additionally, Wicky is the first mimic to be a humanoid. The Fairy Mimic is based off of 'Fairy One,' a character in Oddport Academy. The Mimic Bot is based off of 'Prophetbot,' one of the characters in the indie game OneShot. The Crab Mimic's design originates from Crab Rave. Pictures of Mimics can be seen in the coin shop, this is the earliest known in-game image for the Mimic. Some maps have unique wave dialogues for a Mimic Encounter. On The Library and Adventure Mode with the DOORS theme, the regular mimic spawn text is replaced with “Oh... I hope you noticed what just appeared.”, said by Curious Light. On the Roliday Rumble quest, the regular mimic spawn text is replaced with "Huh! Who paid for that thing!", said by Ice Brain. Yasuke and Lemonade Cat were given a skin based on the mimic enemy. This skin showed 2 new mimics exclusively for the skin being the bronze and diamond mimic.
