Modeled by Twilight. Animated by Twilight. The Xerthos was based off of theropod dinosaurs and jet airplanes. The main influence behind the Xerthos' appearance was the videogame series Portal and the movie WALL-E. The Xerthos was originally named the Xerthizes. Its name was changed to make it easier to pronounce. The Xerthizes' first design featured no eyes or mouth. This had to be changed in order for it to be considered for the game. The Xerthos is the third and final design for the species. The Xerthos emits trailing particle effects from its engines. The Xerthos and Gundrakken are currently the only Galaxy event dragon to not be robotic versions of existing dragons. According to the Gundrakken's Dragonpedia entry however, it was recreated from a "dragon species that had vanished thousands of years ago." The Xerthos was made breedable on February 16th, 2024, alongside the Amoonita, Aranga, Desygual, Dysuva, Hielochiim, Hoarusn, Phocaphan, Scrawei, Verscervus, and the Viridik, with Wave 2 of the breedable Soul Bound dragons.
