How Dress to Impress Works — Rounds, Voting & Ranking Up

The route
Stage 1Round anatomy
Every round: a theme is announced → the dress timer starts and everyone builds an outfit from the closet (racks by clothing type, VIP room if you have the pass) → timer ends → the runway begins and each player walks while the lobby votes → scores land, the podium celebrates the top three, next theme.
Stage 2The dress timer, used well
The timer is the real opponent. The efficient order: silhouette first (dress or top/bottom decides the outfit's shape), then hair, then shoes, then accessories, then makeup if time allows. Hair sells themes harder than any clothing slot — never ship a look with default hair. Our outfit formulas guide has ready-made routes for the common themes, and the themes database breaks down what judges reward on each.
Stage 3How voting works
You rate every other contestant's look in stars. Votes are anonymous, you can't vote for yourself, and the aggregate decides the round. Two implications: readability wins (judges scroll fast — a clear concept at a glance beats intricate details nobody clicks into), and downvote revenge is a myth to ignore — vote honestly, the sample size protects you.
Stage 4Ranking up
Winning and placing well earns progress toward the game's rank ladder — climb it and you unlock the flexes (titles and the prestige of Top Model status) that the lobby actually respects. Consistency beats jackpots here: podiuming steadily across many rounds out-climbs occasional wins, which is why theme knowledge (not closet size) is the real skill gap.
