What does this mean?

Grow a Garden's in-game currency. A crop's value is its base Sheckle sell value at its average weight — the anchor the game's weight formula scales from. Gear is listed at its documented Sheckle shop cost instead. Both are in-game figures from the community wiki. Values are not comparable across games.

Patch history

The Badlands Pepper is the 4th type of Pepper to be added to the game. Badlands Pepper hasn't the 2nd highest base price of any pepper (Just behind Dragon Pepper) despite being a legendary crop. There used to be a bug where players can put 9+ mutations on a normal sized Badlands Pepper to create an "air plane" which can be used to "fly" up in one direction. The bug is now patched.
