Overview
The Shovel is a common gear automatically placed in a player's inventory once they join the game.
Appearance
The Shovel appears to be an ordinary shovel with a brown handle and a gray blade.
Usage
The shovel can remove crops, fruits, and placed gears from a player's garden. If a player attempts to shovel a valuable (rare or higher) crop, produce, unobtainable crop or any placed gear, a pop-up appears, asking the player if they want to shovel it, says the fruit is considered valuable, and doing that cannot be undone. (Example: Mango, Foxglove). Then the player can choose either to cancel the action or confirm it and shovel the crop, the produce, or the gear. If a crop or a produce is common or uncommon and not considered valuable, the Shovel will immediately shovel it once the player clicks it (e.g., Tomato, Strawberry). However, Carrots, Sprinklers, and Favorited Crops cannot be shoveled. Also, with the addition of the Christmas Harvest Event, the Christmas Tree crop cannot be shoveled. Legendary Crops such as Apple and Bamboo used to immediately be destroyed upon shoveling them. Later, they were given confirmation pop-ups. The only pet that could modify the shovel was the Seagull, but its ability was removed due to exploits used to duplicate limited seeds, such as Easter Eggs, Candy Blossoms, and Bone Blossoms.
