The Ethereal Effect is an effect that was obtainable by purchasing it in the Ghostly Item Pack for 1,700 Robux as part of the 2019 Halloween Event. When the effect is equipped, the player's knife is surrounded by light blue smoke. It is no longer obtainable as the event has since ended.
