Description

The Golden Scout is a upgraded version of the Scout, obtained in the Golden Crate for 50,000 Coins. It can also appear in the Daily Skin Store for 55,000 Coins. You automatically unlock the Golden Scout's normal counterpart, the Scout, when you first join in the game. The Golden Scout is very cheap in comparison to other towers, meaning that it can be placed right from the start of the game. However, the Golden Scout has mediocre DPS, meaning that in harder modes it is not that effective later on during the game. In comparison to its normal counterpart, the Scout, it is considerably more expensive to upgrade. Despite this, the Golden Scout is significantly better than its normal counterpart because it has much higher DPS and efficiency. The Golden Scout is considered an early-game to mid-game tower, although it can handle the late-game with some support.

Strategy

The Golden Scout is mainly used as an early-game to mid-game tower and does not perform as well later on during the game. Placing multiple Level 0 Golden Scouts can be a good way to defend earlier waves. The Golden Scout has cheap hidden detection. This means that the Golden Scout can be used to defend against weaker Hidden enemies, like the Hidden and Shadow, while you can work on getting more expensive towers and upgrades. It can also defend well against Hidden enemies with higher health such as the Hidden Boss or Shadow Boss at later levels, when multiple of them are placed down. It also has cheap lead penetration, making it useful for enemies like Lead and Elite Lead. However, it does not have flying detection, so it cannot target the Lead Balloon while its balloons are not popped. The Golden Scout can be used as a cheap way to distract enemies like the Molten Boss from using their abilities on more useful towers, like the Accelerator. This could be risky however, due to the tower slot limit of 5, you may not be able to choose better towers. You can use the Golden Scout to deal with the early waves to give it some use other than distracting bosses' abilities. The DJ Booth can increase the Golden Scout's somewhat short range.
