Ways to Obtain

A common drop from the Robo Bear Challenge. A reward from Retro Swarm Challenge. As a rare drop from mobs such as Rhino Beetles and Mantises. As a reward from finishing your own Robo Party. As a drop from Robo Party mobs. Buying the Frozen Forest Pack from Bee Bear's Catalog. Buying the Winter Winds Pack from Bee Bear's Catalog. As a drop from certain planters. Planters harvested in Pine Tree Forest have a higher chance to drop whirligigs than other fields. Petal Planter gives the most whirligigs, although Blue Clay Planter has the highest chance of dropping them. As a Stack Reward for adding certain stickers to the Sticker Stack: The Launching Rocket rewards 10 whirligigs. The Simple Mountain rewards 10 whirligigs.

Patch history

Using a whirligig during an Ant Challenge will teleport the player to the center of the Ant Field. Using a whirligig used to teleport the player away from the challenge, thus ending it. This is also one of the ways to exit the White Tunnel other than defeating or being killed by Tunnel Bear, leaving and rejoining the game, and using the gray plate at the middle of the tunnel. They are based on maple tree seeds (nicknamed whirligigs), which, when falling, spin, thus traveling further from the tree. This may have inspired the whirligig's mechanic of teleporting or rather "carrying" you back to your hive. Before the 2022-12-26 update, Whirligigs had a cooldown of 5 minutes. If the player has the Frozen debuff (from Snowbear), the whirligig will only teleport the player's bees. This may also occur if the player is lagging.
