The Freezing Hydra Island is an event at the Hydra Island.
How to get it
The player must unlock Draco V3 and set sail to hunt the Leviathan with the Beast Hunter boat. After defeating it, they have to harpoon the Leviathan Heart dropped by the boss and bring it all the way to the waterfall of the Hydra Island. Usage
The Freezing Hydra Island event is required in order to gain access to the Dojo Vault, and ultimately the Draco race's Race Awakening. The player is able to light up the green and yellow lanterns in front of the vault during this event, hence unlocking said vault. Note: The lanterns can only be lit up by the player if the requirements for them to be lit up are met by said player.
Obtainment
The player must unlock Draco V3 and set sail to hunt the Leviathan with the Beast Hunter boat. After defeating it, they have to harpoon the Leviathan Heart dropped by the boss and bring it all the way to the waterfall of the Hydra Island. After doing so, the Freezing Hydra Island will initiate and the player can perform the steps needed to unlock the vault. It's important to note that the player is only able to interact with the event if they were part of the Sea Exploration Group bringing the heart to the island, and hasn't died since the heart was obtained. Note: This event only lasts for about 5-15 minutes. After freezing the Hydra Island, the Leviathan Heart will disappear.
Notes
The player can be any race while fighting the Leviathan, however they must swap to back Draco (after the island is frozen) in order to ignite the dojo lanterns and open the Dojo Vault.
Trivia
Interestingly, during this, the dojo lanterns gain a proximity prompt that is not normally visible until this, and disappears after it ends. The water around Freezing Hydra Island will not change and will still act as water, not ice. While the island is frozen, enemies will be covered in ice (this affects Elite enemies as well), and while in this state, they cannot move towards the player, but they can still attack them. Breaking the ice will deal around 1/2 of their health and free them from their restraint. This makes doing quests that require NPCs quite easy, as they take less time to kill and makes grinding for Dragon Scales and Blaze Embers quicker. This should not be relied on, as the snowstorm only lasts for around 5-15 minutes and requires a Leviathan Heart to do so.
