Steal An Egg upgrades: buy now or keep saving?

Choose between a purchase and your next goal

Pet earnings, treadmill training and base upgrades serve different purposes in Steal An Egg. The developer's description establishes those systems, but it does not provide a universal order or a current price list. A useful choice starts with the obstacle you face and the amount of time you plan to play.

Write down the purchase you want, its displayed price and the result you expect. “It is rarer” is not a measurement. “It adds this much cash per minute to my setup” or “it reduces the time to my next Speed target” can be compared with saving.

For an income purchase, calculate the extra earnings

Suppose a setup earns 100 currency per minute and an upgrade would raise it to 180. The improvement is 80 per minute. If it costs 1,500, recovering the purchase relative to keeping your current setup takes 1,500 ÷ 80 = 18.75 minutes after buying.

These numbers are hypothetical. They illustrate the calculation and are not prices or pet stats from Steal An Egg.

If you currently have 500, you also need ten minutes at the existing rate to afford that purchase. The full catch-up time is therefore 28.75 minutes from now. At minute 20 the upgrade path is still behind on cash; at minute 30 it is slightly ahead. The same purchase can make sense for a long session and delay a near-term goal in a short one.

Enter your own figures in the upgrade planner. It shows the wait to buy, when the two cash paths cross, the balance at the end of your session and time to a target balance. Include only the additional income you expect after any replaced pet's contribution is removed.

For a treadmill, compare training time

A training upgrade changes Speed progression, so use a Speed target and measured training rates. If you need 6,000 more Speed and currently gain 200 per minute, the estimate is 30 training minutes. At 300 per minute, it becomes 20 minutes. Those are also hypothetical values.

The ten-minute saving must be considered alongside the time spent earning the upgrade's price. If earning that price takes fifteen additional minutes, the upgrade does not shorten this one target under those assumptions. It may still help many later targets. Avoid calling it a bad purchase solely because its benefit arrives later.

Check that your measurement describes the whole training interval. A bonus visible for part of a minute should not be treated as a permanent rate. If the game expresses training in steps or ticks, time a complete interval before converting it to a per-minute estimate.

For a base upgrade, identify the blocked action

Some purchases are useful because they remove a constraint rather than multiplying a rate. Read the current base limit and upgrade description. Then state the action you could take after upgrading and the resources that action would still need.

An upgrade that creates room for a plan you can already carry out is different from one that creates room you cannot use yet. Compare the complete next step, including any follow-on costs. The planner models one purchase, so a chain of purchases needs separate calculations and a fresh starting balance at each step.

Stress-test the estimate

Run the income comparison twice: once with the rate you expect and once with a lower rate. For example, reduce an uncertain improvement by a quarter to see whether it still pays back during your session. This is a sensitivity check, not a claim that the game imposes a 25% penalty.

If the conclusion flips, the decision depends strongly on the estimate. Collect a better measurement or wait until the purchase is less costly relative to your balance. An upgrade can also be worthwhile for enjoyment or access to new content even when it does not win a cash comparison; label that benefit separately.

Do not treat Bloxism's Roblox player counts, favourites or ratings as evidence for an upgrade's strength. Those describe game activity, not your pet's earnings, a hidden luck multiplier or a guarantee about future rewards.

The official Steal An Egg description, checked September 29, 2026, supports the presence of pets, money, base upgrades, treadmill upgrades and Speed training. The arithmetic and examples are Bloxism's original decision framework. No spending of Robux is required to use it. For the broader routine, read start here.
