Maitake is a support tower who uses poisonous flasks to damage enemies. At level 2, she gains the ability to heal most types of Summons, such as Slime King's Slimes, Kart Kids, and Hayes's Crows.

Strategy
Maitake is a great early game tower due to the poison effect being able to deal with almost all early enemies. Level 3 Maitake has splash damage, allowing the poison to affect multiple enemies at once. Level 4 Maitake gains area damage, allowing the poison to affect every enemy in her range. Level 5 Maitake's attack now lingers for several seconds, affecting enemies that enter her range. If you plan on using Maitake to unstun towers, it is recommended to keep her at Level 4 due to the fact she attacks faster, and Level 5's lingering effect doesn't unstun.

Trivia
She is named after the Hen-of-the-wood fungus, for short, Maitake. She was added along with the Grand Garage map. Her description in the TH Info Place is "Turn into mushrooms!". Maitake is one of the only towers designed by Smelly, the other being Slime King. Despite having her bangs covering her face, she actually has eyes behind them. If you position your spectator camera (Can be accessed by pressing Shift+P) correctly, or if your wifi is bad and her hair doesn't load, or you use the Ghostly skin, you can see her closed eyes behind her bangs. Maitake is the 1st tower to be immune to stuns, 2nd being Lure and 3rd being Nuki Launcher.
