The 2D Kitty is a limited legendary pet in Adopt Me! that was originally released on April 1, 2021 as an event rarity pet for the April Fools Day 2021 Update. It was re-released on December 16, 2025 with the legendary rarity for the 2D Tuesday event, which runs during specific hours every Tuesday. A temporary 2D Kitty is granted to every player during this event, but a permanent one can be obtained by opening 2D Boxes or trading.

April Fools 2021
On April 1, 2021, the 2D Kitty could be obtained through talking to the NPC, Burt, near the Nursery, with a limit of one per player. The 2D Kitty had the event rarity, and it came fully grown, and was flyable and rideable. There was no way for a player to simultaneously possess two 2D Kitties, as only one could be obtained from talking to Burt, and it could not be traded or given away. The April Fools 2D Kitty disappeared from the players' inventories after leaving the game on April 2, 2021 and becoming unavailable. The tricks available on the old 2D Kitty were as follows: Sit, Joyful, Jump, Trick 1, and Trick 2.
2D Tuesday
The 2D Tuesday event was introduced on December 16, 2025, and it occurs every Tuesday, between 12-1 AM, 8-9 AM, and 4-5 PM Pacific Standard Time. During this event, a 2D Kitty is temporarily added to every player's inventory, fully grown with friendship level 1. 2x Bucks and XP is active for 2D Kitty only for the duration of the event, though the 2D Kitty stays in the player's inventory until the player leaves the server. Players can earn a 2D Box from the Task Board by completing 20 needs on the temporary 2D Kitty. This task only shows up once for the entire day without repeating, so players can only complete it and claim the 2D Box once per week. The 2D Box has a 1.5% chance to give the player a permanent 2D Kitty of their own, or a 98.5% chance to grant a different reward.
Appearance
The 2D Kitty features a 2D black and white sketched-out cat, the outlines being black and the entire body being filled in white, resembling a cartoon or low-quality drawing. It has two pointy ears on top of its head as well as a small tuft of fur, two whiskers on each side of its head, two circular drawn-out eyes, 4 legs, a mouth, a waving tail, and a circle as its body. It has 2-frame animations to match its sketch-like appearance.

Neon Appearance
The Neon 2D Kitty glows red on the lines that make up its body and details.
Mega Neon Appearance
The Mega Neon 2D Kitty glows in the same areas as the Neon 2D Kitty, except those areas cycle through the colors of the rainbow.
Trivia
The 2D Kitty is one of the only pets in Adopt Me! that has a 2D style and frame-by-frame animations. The other pet is the 2D Doggy. The 2D Kitty makes a cameo on a wall in one of the rooms in the Hospital.
