The Intern is a Class in Animal Hospital. It is the default class players can obtain for free upon joining the game for the first time.
Equipping this class at level 1 will grant the player 10 bonus Sanity, starting them of with 71% sanity instead of 61%. At level 2 and 3, the bonus sanity is increased to 15 and 20, respectively. Acting as a starter class, the is decent for beginners, as the extra health allows them a bit more time to learn the game. The bonus sanity also means that players can have more Coffee during the run more often, at least in the early game.

Appearance
The is a rabbit-like creature with upturned ears. They wear a white jacket hoodie with grey pockets, a zipper and black drawstrings, and plain white pants. Their face features small, black dots as eyes, and a large, uncanny smile. They are light orange in the classes shop and by default, but varies in color once in a shift. When playing with other users, can appear green, blue, or pink.
Known Bugs
Intern can sometimes appear faceless in-game.
Patch history
Prior to the June 19th, 2026 update, no matter which class a player had equipped, their in-game model would always default to the during a shift. Two of the Discord stickers featuring reference different media. The first one references the "Good Answer, Nephew" meme. The second one references the IShowSpeed "Please Speed, I need this" meme. The is the only class with multiple color variants, which was added to make it easier for players to tell each other apart during a shift. It is currently unknown if this idea will also be implemented to other classes if more than one person has the same class in a shift. The has an unusual face differing from any of the other characters and does not have any of the possible animal faces. This could be due to the Intern being an anomaly, but this theory is not confirmed. was one of the only characters that can jumpscare the player, although this was locked behind a gamepass. This is no longer possible due to the removal of the "Jumpscare All" gamepass. The Intern was the only class that didn't get remodeled on July 10th.
