Black Bear is a quest giver located at the very beginning of the game. He is one of the eight permanent Quest Bears that can be accessed in the game, with the others being Brown Bear, Mother Bear, Panda Bear, Science Bear, Dapper Bear, Polar Bear, and Spirit Bear. After the player has completed all of Black Bear's main questlines, the player can obtain repetitive quests every hour, similar to Brown Bear. He is usually the first quest bear to be accessed, along with Mother Bear, Brown Bear, and Traveling Bears (only during special events). He provides quests to players to help them progress in the game and to provide extra goals to reach for.

Dialogue
Black Bear gives a lot of information in his quest dialogues. Some of the information he gives is not found anywhere else in-game.
Patch history
Black Bear proudly calls himself a "Honey Connoisseur" in his dialogue. This is what the "Black Bear's Title?" hint (behind the Instant Converter where Tunnel Bear is) refers to, leading to the Code "Connoisseur". He is the third bear to have a list of endless repeating quests. Black Bear uses the Cartoony Animation Package. He is the only quest giver to have normal quests and repeatable quests. The repeatable quests used to be given one after another, with no cooldown. As of now, the repeatable quests have a cooldown of one hour. After the 2020-04-06 Update, where Black Bear got his quests, if the player already had a repeatable quest, it was unable to be turned in until they had completed all of Black Bear's Mythic Egg quests. Black Bear is one of the twelve Cub Buddy skins. He is self-aware that he is in a Roblox game, along with Panda Bear, Mother Bear, Bee Bear, Science Bear, and Spirit Bear, as he says, “But this is ROBLOX! Anything goes!” He also says "the 'luck' stat in the game," mentions waiting for an update to happen, and mentions that he's a 'virtual bear.' He was the first bear to give a, with Panda Bear being the second, Brown Bear being the third, and Dapper Bear being the fourth. He was the second bear to give a Mythic Egg, with Brown Bear being the first and Dapper Bear being the third. He, Mother Bear, and Brown Bear were "nice" in 2018, as stated by Bee Bear during the Beesmas 2018 Event. In "Pretty Pumpkins" during dialogue, originally it was only "Test.". This was a mistake, and the actual dialogue was added sometime later.
