Slime

The Slime is a mob exclusive in the Retro Swarm Challenge. Its level varies on the round of the challenge.

Behavior

The Slime moves constantly towards the hive, depleting flowers under it. Stuns also cannot stop the mob from moving forward, with only the trowel's walls being able to halt the movement of the mob. Slimes increase in size as they increase in level.

Tips

Slimes along with Zombies are mainly in hordes. It is advised to use crowd-controlling bees like Digital Bee and Vicious Bee, as Mind Hack and Impale can help out massively, especially in the later rounds where Slimes and Zombies start increasing in level and health drastically. Remember that Slimes can damage you simply by coming into contact with you. If you are not careful and become too reckless, you can die very quickly to hordes. The Rocket Launcher is also a very good weapon against slimes as it can deal damage to multiple slimes at once. Try upgrading from the normal sword to the Firebrand as soon as possible. There is a large damage boost that comes with this, and you'll be able to kill low to mid-level Slimes with ease before they even get a chance to sufficiently damage you. The Illumina is an even bigger help, but it may start becoming less useful by the time you reach round 20 or 21. Swords as a whole start becoming futile by round 20/21 as the Slimes increase in health and spawn in larger numbers. By this point, it is advised that you buy bees that are preferably at the level that the Slimes are, which is most likely too much to handle for early and midgame players. A slime's hitbox is in its center, or the darker green sphere in its middle. Because of this, larger slimes can be completely immune to sword attacks if the sword can't hit the center of the slime. You can use the Trowel to temporarily block Slimes from approaching the hives. This can prove to be extremely useful if you or your team are unable to clear out a horde of Slimes.
