Dark Step (formerly known as Black Leg) is a leg-based fighting style obtainable in the First Sea (or any other seas). Dark Step is the cheapest fighting style that can be purchased, having 4 abilities instead of the usual 3. It allows the user to fight using their legs. This fighting style has the ability for player to Overheat for a short period of time, making them deal more damage The abilities require low mastery and so this fighting style is beginner friendly. This is also good for the First Sea if the player can't afford Water Kung Fu or Electric.

Dark Step can be learned for 150,000 from the Dark Step Teacher.
Mastery
300+ Mastery: Dark Step is one of the requirements to obtain Superhuman in Second Sea or Third Sea. 400+ Mastery: Dark Step is one of the requirements to obtain Death Step in Second Sea or Third Sea.
Patch history
Dark Step is considered to be the best fighting style for grinding aura mastery. If the user uses [V] Overheat and goes into Light's [F] Light Flight, the flames will get all messed up. If [V] Overheat is used over 100 times, the user will have both legs on fire upon using it again, similar to Death Step's [V] move which doesn't have a requirement for both legs to be on fire and has it from the start upon use. If the user uses [V] Overheat, and then switches to another fighting style, the user's legs will still be on fire without an expiration timer. Hence, it is possible to get both flame legs and flame fists by activating the move and equipping Dragon Talon. This effect only gets removed if the player dies or rejoins. This is purely cosmetic. The expiration timer is however restored if using the [V] move again. The damage multiplier is only applied while using Dark Step or Death Step's moves, so the user cannot use this to get extra damage on other moves. If the player has Dark Step or Death Step equipped, their Aura stages will start at their legs, instead of their hands. [C] Barrage is similar to Rubber's [C] Rush. If the user uses [C] Barrage and quickly switch fighting styles while holding it, they will be stuck in the animation. Dark Step is the one of the only two fighting styles to have four moves, the other being its successor, Death Step. In Update 9, Dark Step was almost renamed to Fire Feet. By equipping Death Step/Dark Step and climbing to a ladder, the user will climb with their legs instead of their hands, due to the user's hands being on their waist.
