According to stories, these dragons were once small gingerbread cookies until a magical blessing brought them to life, becoming a real dragon. Because of this, Gyngefareds are born with a fear of being eaten. These dragons know how delicious they are, some even eat themselves, but the others spread joy and cherish the moments of being able to live. Gyngefared isn’t made for combat but rather for thriving and bringing happiness. Their speed makes up for it by having the ability to flee from danger. In the end, these are just curious dragons that are eager to learn about the world more. Having a companion by their side will be a great help and make their adventures more exciting."

It may derive from Middle English gynger, meaning "ginger", or gyngebred/gyngere brede, which translates to "gingerbread." The was based off of gingerbread men. Each of the Gyngefared's presets are based off of types of cookies: The default preset resembles that of stereotypical gingerbread men and house colors. The Honey preset was based off of honey cookies. The Lemongrass preset was based off its namesake; lemongrass cookies. The Mistletoe preset was likely based off of mistletoe cookies or mistletoe in general. The Raspberry preset was based off of raspberry cookies. It was first revealed in Domeboybeene's Q&A stream in the Dragon Adventures Discord on November 15th, 2024. The has permanent black dot eyes. The emits secondary and tertiary-colored sprinkle particles from its wings if it has the Sparkles Trail mutation. The was made a breedable species with the Soul Bound mechanic on January 16th, 2026, alongside the Aethereus, Caelydris, Calimaki, Carnealgon, Caudembris, Mosuraki, Nightmare Paranox, and the Phyllantis in Wave 8.
