The Tidebreaker is a diving equipment item that can be used to aid in underwater maneuverability
The Tidebreaker, an aquatic device, is available for 40,000C$ C$ at the Desolate Pocket. It can be found on a table near the Merchant’s and Innkeeper's campfire, alongside the Glider, Flippers, and other items. When equipped, it propels the player through the water, delivering much faster swimming speeds compared to Flippers, Super Flippers, or standard swimming.

The Tidebreaker is considered underpowered for its price, the gap between its speed and Super Flippers is large but not needing to swim very often in the water often makes it looked down on, and some faster boats can be used in its place in The Ocean. The Tidebreaker can be used as transport instead of a boat. However, it's not possible to fish whilst using it, unlike with a boat. The Tidebreaker is currently the most expensive aquatic device. The Tidebreaker used to launch the user really high into the air when going fast underwater, but this has been fixed. This item is most likely inspired from the Seaglide from Subnautica, having a very similar ability and function. If the player angles the camera directly on top of themselves, with shift lock, and holds down the A or D keys on the surface of the water, the Tidebreaker will go much faster.
