Dr. Finneus

Overview^[1]

Dr. Finneus was formerly an NPC exclusive to the Archaeological Hunt event, who was located on a crane vessel in the Ocean, and allowed Fischers to access the Archaeologist Bestiary. After Version 1.18, they were re-added at Roslit Bay as the primary NPC for the Ashfall Event, where they can be found on a small research vessel located centrally to Roslit Bay's Coral Reef.

Dr. Finneus was an NPC apart of the Archaeologist Event and used to be found in the Ocean near Snowcap, looking for a mysterious island. Interacting with him is used to give you a quest to get 10 prehistoric fossils. Once all 10 prehistoric fossils have been found, talking with Dr. Finneus again will give the player a Handwritten Note with an ancient code complete hence onward for the Archeological Site where the player can obtain the Relic Rod inside the Relic Rod Cave. Dr. Finneus is now an NPC that can be found at Roslit Bay as a part of the Ashfall Event.

First Encounter: Dr. Finneus: "Hello, explorer! What brings you here? You: "What are you doing?". Dr. Finneus: "We're finishing up some research on an island we believe that exists." You: "...". Dr. Finneus: "We think we have enough proof, but we could use an extra hand here. Maybe we could reward you - interested?" You: "Sure!". Dr. Finneus: "The mysterious island hides a reward! Find 10 prehistoric fish bones to claim it." You: "Can I see the bestiary?". He then shows you the Archeologist Bestiary, (To see it scroll down while at the Archeological Site link) which helps you to find the 10 fish bones. Second Encounter: Dr. Finneus: "Search near different islands. The bones reveal ancient truths!". You: "Can I see the bestiary?". Like the first encounter, he shows the Archeologist Bestiary, (To see it scroll down while at the Archeological Site link) which helps you find the 10 fish bones.
