Obtainment
The Relic Rod could be obtained from the Archeological Site for. To access it, the player would first talk to Dr. Finneus and complete the Archeological Site Bestiary. Upon completion, returning to Dr. Finneus would grant the player a Handwritten Note containing an ancient code. This code was used to unlock the gate at the Archeological Site by interacting with the stone plate. Steps Speak with Dr. Finneus, the archaeologist. Collect 10 Prehistoric fish bones of different rarities. There are: 3 in Roslit Bay, 3 in Moosewood, 1 in Mushgrove Swamp, 1 in Snowcap Island, and 2 in Forsaken Shores. Return to Dr. Finneus to receive a Handwritten Note with an ancient code. Use the GPS to navigate to coordinates. Interact with the tablet-like stone plate and press the symbols left-to-right in the order shown on the Handwritten Note. Enter the gate that opens to find the Relic Rod, which can be purchased for.

The Relic Rod could be obtained if someone gave the player fossils. Despite its description, the Relic Rod does not have a passive ability. It was speculated that the rod would play a role in the previous upcoming Ancient Isles update, which it did not. The ancient code is based on the alphabets of the Bengali language. The Relic Rod is the third exclusive rod in the game, following the Executive Rod and Haunted Rod. Contrary to its name, the Relic Rod does not increase the odds of fishing up Enchant Relics.
