The Ruinous Oath is a rod obtained at the Crimson Cavern for 5,000,000C$ C$ + full Shiny Sparkling bestiary for the Crimson Cavern. The rod acts as an improved version of the Luminescent Oath. Retaining the same style of obtaining fish with it's difficult minigame, but offering an immense cash gain if completed. It has +4 hunt Disturbance and has a Hunt Focus for the Colossal Ancient Dragon hunt event.

Obtainment
This rod requires Level 750 in order to obtain it, As well as getting the full Shiny and Sparkling Bestiary of the Crimson Cavern. The rod costs 5,000,000C$ C$ and is located on a pedestal next to the Crimson King.
Passives
Similar to the Luminescent Oath, it has a passive where if you’re perfect catching, the Progress Speed increases by 5% every second (Forced Progress Speed), but the Control Bar size gradually shortens to -0.2, while the increases to 1.5x. If the perfect catch is successful, the fish gets the Mastered (9x) mutation, If not successful in the perfect catch the fish has 25% chance to get the Mastered(9x) mutation. Also note that the Mastered mutation will override any other mutations obtained on the fish (Excluding Shiny and Sparkling). Ruinous Oath will slash fishes, however the amount of progress added (2% per slash) to the Progress Bar is much less than other rods with same passive. To compensate with the lesser slash power, the chance for the rod to slash gets increased by 8% every second and stacks to 100%. The Ruinous Oath has a 15% chance to instantly fill up 80% of the progress bar on the lured fish.
Enchantments
Mystical to improve the rod's and allow for instant lure. Resilient if no are available. Herculean to improve the rod's control and allow for easier catches when catching rare fish. Controlled or Unbreakable if are unavailable. Sea Overlord to take advantage of the rod's ability to give a guaranteed high valuable mutation (Mastered) by increasing the fish's size Sea King if aren't a option.

The skin Somber Oath seems to be heavily inspired by The Funeral of the Dead Butterflies, an Abnormality from Lobotomy Corporation which bears some striking similarities such as: The skin rod handle is a coffin with a butterfly symbol, which appears to be the same coffin that The Funeral of the Dead Butterflies carries. This skin appearances share visual themes of a chromatic butterflies which is heavily associated with this abnormality.
