Fish It! Beginner's Guide — Your First Hour

New to Fish It!? Here's how the game works and exactly what to do in your first hour.
The core loop
Cast by holding to charge the meter, then click as fast as you can to reel — landing the timing bar gives a Perfect throw. Every fish you catch is sold to the fish merchant for Coins; holding onto fish earns you nothing, so sell after every trip. Coins buy better rods, bait and boats, which unlock harder islands with rarer, more valuable fish. That's the whole snowball.
What to upgrade first

Bait before rods. Bait directly raises your rare-fish odds and is cheap early — grab the Luck Bait (1,500 coins) before sinking coins into a rod.

Then a luck rod. The Lucky Rod (10,000 coins, 130% Luck) is the classic first big upgrade and carries you a long way.

Buy a boat (~7,000 coins) so you can reach mid-tier zones like Kohana Volcano.
Best early farm
Kohana gives the best consistent coin-per-catch for beginners — park there once you can reach it and grind until you can afford the next rod.
