Fish It! Rod Progression — Which Rod to Buy Next

Updated Jul 16, 2026

Rods are the backbone of Fish It! — each has three stats: Luck (odds of rarer fish), Speed (how fast you reel) and Weight (the biggest fish it can land). Here's the sensible upgrade path.

Early game (free → 50K coins)

Start with the Starter Rod, grab the free Toy Rod (like + group) and Luck Rod (250), then climb the store: Grass → Damascus → Ice. Pick up the free Lava Rod at Kohana Volcano along the way. Your first real milestone is the Lucky Rod (10,000, 130% Luck), followed by the Midnight Rod (50,000).

Mid game (215K → 1.38M coins)

Steampunk (215K) → Chrome (437K) → Fluorescent (715K) → Astral (1M). The Astral Rod's 380% Luck and 43% speed make it the mid-game workhorse (and a great night-fisher). The Hazmat Rod (1.38M, from the Traveling Merchant) matches its luck with more weight.

Late game (3M+ coins)

Ares (3M, Tropical Grove) → Angler (8M, Lost Isle) → Bamboo (12M, Sacred Temple) push Luck past 750%. Slot the Ghostfinn Rod in via the Deep Sea quest — its 118% speed is a huge jump.

Endgame (quest rods)

The two best rods can't be bought: the Element Rod (1111% Luck) and Diamond Rod (1300% Luck) are quest rewards that gate the rarest Secret fish. See the full rod tier list for how they rank.

Gamepass shortcut: the Angelic (399 R$), Gold (445 R$) and Hyper (999 R$) rods let you skip ahead if you'd rather spend Robux than grind.
