Pros and Cons

Being damaged normally, (excluding awakening moves) fills the ultimate bar. Has access to versatile mobility moves. Notably, Beatdown has a very fast startup in addition to its range - therefore can be utilized as a second forward dash. 's counter grants I-Frames when triggered. Grand Slam's aerial variant can punish armor-less skills that send users into the air, which include (but are not limited to) Explusive Push, Atmos Cleave, Bullet Barrage and Brutal Demon's own Grand slam. Has access to a one-shot counter during Ultimate. Has access to armor and AoE skills in the base moveset. and have very good synergy with each other, having reliable unblockable damage. and also have a pretty short cooldown. When Foul Ball's Projectile is reflected, it has a chance to break instead of being sent back to the sender. This does not happen when it is reflected by the Psychic Barrier passive of. Most attacks ignore blocks and do not penalize the user (unlike ) when they are blocked, allowing them to start a combo. The slight increase in knockback of this character's mini uppercut makes it great for performing the Uppercut Dash tech, and Grand Slam's variant. The 4th M1 doesn't do knockback, making it easier to do some combos. Although, this can also be seen as a con as this prevents other combos and leaves you open to ragdoll cancel counter-attacks. Ragdoll cancel counter-attacks can be easily avoided by side or back dashing right as the 4th M1 hits your target.

Patch history

The first move, "Homerun", was originally called "Rebound Thrash". This character originally had 's M1 attacks. He has the most unique M1s out of all characters so far, ending the M1 string with a down slam. 's start up sound comes from when Garou was fighting Death Gatling's group and he ends up grabbing Chain'n'Toads weapon. Originally, 's M1s were faster upon it's first release, however, it has been changed due to you being able endlessly down slam players. As of the July 2025 update, his M1's are now slightly faster. was the second character to gain cutscenes for his ultimate skills, with the first one being (the other characters following are, Tech Prodigy, Monster Form and ). used to be able to kill a player with equipped, even if that player had Infinity on, this has, however, been patched. is a reference to how Metal Bat would've killed Garou if his sister hadn't intervened, as seen here. Its counter pose is also a reference to Garou proceeding to attack Metal Bat after the latter takes him for a civilian and suggests to Garou that he should evacuate, as seen here. has a unique animation when activated by a player using, or (in other words, a melee weapon), seen here. The animation is exclusive to the player that gets countered, the user will still have the same counter animation. Currently, the animation for appears to be bugged for the axe M1's as the victim appears to still use their fist instead of their axe, resulting in an odd animation. windup used to be very short, which made it almost impossible to hit an opponent out of the windup.
