Description
Competition Court, internally referred to as Map2Adidas, was a map located in a city soccer court. It was the event map for the second mission of the Backyard Legends Event. Like other event maps, this map had a specialized wave structure with special enemies. Players started with a varying amount of cash, based on the player count. It has no unique rewards. You only got cash if an enemy is killed, or in some cases, damaged by a specific amount of health. Additionally, the amount gained was a set amount of cash, which was not always equal to the enemy's health. Enemies split their cash between players, regardless of how much damage the player dealt to it. If, in a duo, one player did all the damage to an enemy, both players would receive 50% of the cash the enemy would normally give in solo. This means that in solo, you received 100% of the cash when an enemy was killed, or it was damaged enough. With each additional player, this was reduced to 50% in duo, 33% in trio and 25% in quad. If it was a decimal number, it got rounded up or down depending on the decimal value. If it was at least 0.5, it gets rounded up. If it was less than 0.5, it got rounded down. All difficulties had health scaling of 10% in trio matches and 20% in quad matches. In the Hard difficulty, Mutation was applied, which increased the health of an enemy by 10% every wave after its first appearance, also boosting rewards by 20%. In both difficulties, players could not use their Skills or consumables.
Design & Path
Competition Court was a soccer court placed in the middle of a city. The court had a blue floor with white lines and was surrounded by short metal fences on the sides and taller ones on the front and back. Behind the fences there were benches, multiple spotlights and bystanders watching the court. On the front and back there were stairs leading out of the court. Next to them were a few trees. These stairs lead to the city itself, which contained multiple colorful buildings with billboards on them which displayed Roblox ads. The path started at one goal to the other. The path took multiple long straights followed by quick turns.
Preset Loadouts
This map only had one preset loadout with no option to choose your own. Because of this, every player would use the following loadout.
Rewards
The game calculated how many Coins Coins and you received based on how many waves you survived and if you won a match. During periods of 100% more (Friday – Sunday), any earned is multiplied by 2x through the XP Boost modifier. The VIP gamepass also multiplied any earned by 1.25x through the VIP Boost modifier. These two boosts were additive. Rewards were calculated as: Triumphing Backyard Beginnings could give out an additional reward, which could be a crate, consumable or ticket. The reward given was based on difficulty selected. They were meant to be guaranteed, though due to a bug this did not always happen. Additionally, items were sometimes not given out. These items were: There were also a few badges which can be obtained when playing this map. These were
Wave Structure
The formula for calculating wave bonus on each wave was: (750 + ([Waves Completed - 1] × 250)^1.13) × (1 - [Players - 1]; 0.03) The wave clear bonus appears when every enemy from that wave was killed. It was 35% of the wave bonus in solo matches and 20% of the wave bonus in duo or higher matches. The waves in Competition Court followed these timings: Bolded names indicate an enemy type's debut. Easy Wave Structure ---- Hard Wave Structure
Strategy
The Assassin, Militant and Trapper can be pretty effective at taking out enemies. The Trapper can be also used to stall them with its bear traps.
