Description
The Cowboy is an advanced ground tower which generates income every few shots. It can be purchased from the store for 4,000 Coins only after triumphing Badlands II. Due to a bug, the tower does not need to be purchased, instead appearing in the Gift Box. Alternatively, its gamepass can be purchased for 340 Robux. While initially having a fast firerate, it deals only moderate damage, and has middling range compared to towers such as the Accelerator. On later levels, the Cowboy gains much higher damage, bigger range and a faster firerate. The Cowboy can also generate cash every sixth shot at Level 0 and Level 5. The number of shots needed for the Cowboy to generate cash can be seen above its tower icon in the upgrade box or when you hover your cursor over it. After firing the sixth shot, it will spin its gun for a few seconds. The Spin Time is decreased at higher levels. This ability is extremely useful as a secondary source of economy and can even replace the Farm in certain conditions. The Cowboy is considered an all-round tower. Its DPS makes it decent to defend early and mid-game, while its ability to generate cash can make it useful for the entire match. The Cowboy has a placement limit of twelve per player. This is decreased to ten in PVP mode.

Strategy
While the Cowboy is decent early on during the game, it should be replaced with higher DPS towers later on, like the Accelerator. It can be kept for its extra cash generation. It can also serve as extra DPS to complement your main DPS tower, depending on your loadout. Early on during the game, you may want to place down multiple Level 0 Cowboys because of their cheap price, decent DPS and effective cash generation, then slowly upgrade them one by one. However, do note that you may let some high health or Hidden enemies get past, like the Fallen Squire or Fallen Soul. Therefore, it may be worth upgrading some Cowboys to Level 3 for its greater DPS and hidden detection. The Cowboy can generate a set amount of money every sixth shot, starting at Level 0. However, this does not give as much cash compared to the Farm early on. If you intend to replace Farm with the Cowboy, be aware of this. If you want to use this tower for cash generation early on, multiple Level 2 Cowboys can be quite effective. Later on, Level 4 or 5 Cowboys can be used for additional cash, due to their way lower firerate, higher income and lower spin time. The amount of cash earned can be increased even further with Commander's Firerate Buff. The DJ Booth can reduce the Cowboy's upgrade costs, increase its range, and improve its damage, further contributing to its cash generation capabilites. Though, it is best to keep the DJ Booth set to the purple or green track as the red track increases its damage by 20%, lowering the amount of times it can shoot.

Patch history
The Cowboy could have been unlocked from the Badlands map. However, this map was removed in the Wanted Dead Update and replaced with Badlands II. The Cowboy could have also been unlocked by triumphing End of the Line. However, this map was removed in the MEGA Update. The Cowboy has had many ways to generate money throughout the updates. Between the MEGA Update and Smaller = Bigger Update, the Cowboy was unable to generate cash. Before the MEGA Update, the Cowboy could generate cash with its Gold Rush ability at Level 5, which had a 4% chance to drop a money bag worth between 100 and 350 every time it damaged an enemy. Between the Smaller = Bigger Update and Overhaul Update, the Cowboy had a 12% chance (1% chance at Level 5) to generate between 60 and 750 cash, with the max amount increasing with each wave. This made the Cowboy generate an absurd amount of money for early and mid-game waves, making it a direct replacement to the Farm for many players at the time. Between the Overhaul Update and Wanted Dead Update, the Cowboy could generate at minimum of between 10 and 60 cash every fifth shot at Level 2, with the max amount increasing by 1 with each wave. After the Wanted Dead Update, the Cowboy can generate a set amount of cash every sixth shot. Before the MEGA Update, the Cowboy used to have the Gold Rush ability, which had a 65-second cooldown but increased its damage by 65% and every time the Cowboy damaged an enemy, there was a 4% chance to drop a money bag worth between 100 and 350.
