Description
The Sledger is a melee ground tower that attacks enemies with a sledgehammer which has a freeze effect on later levels. It was originally unlocked by triumphing Outpost 32 as part of the Frost Invasion Event. During the Frost Invasion Event, the Sledger was purchasable via a limited time gamepass for 500 Robux. It can currently be bought for 749 Robux for a limited time. The Sledger attacks enemies by simply bashing them with its sledgehammer. It hits enemies in a cone with an angle of 60°. This applies a chillness slowness effect, which stacks up to 45% at Level 0. At Level 3+, when the slowness is higher than max slowness, it will freeze the enemy instead. Enemies immune to freeze cannot be frozen or slowed down, while larger enemies get frozen for a shorter amount of time than average sized enemies. At Level 4+, it deals double normal damage to frozen and chilled enemies through its Ice Breaker passive ability, whether they are frozen/chilled from the Sledger or any other tower that inflicts these effects (like the Freezer). At Level 5, it now has an Aftershock passive ability, which, every single time the Sledger attacks, a large frost shard pattern will trail in the direction the Sledger hit, dealing 20% of the Sledgers damage. This damage always rounds up, no matter the decimal. Though, it has a 0.4 second delay before it deals damage. Aftershock damage is not affected by Ice Breaker. It also applies chillness, which has identical stats to the base attack.

Strategy
The Sledger does not gain hidden detection at any level, meaning it cannot detect Hidden enemies, such as the Phantom. However, if another detectable enemy is in range and the Sledger is at Level 1+, then a Hidden enemy may be indirectly hit by the Sledger. The Hidden enemy can also be frozen, so long as the Sledger is Level 3+. A Level 4+ Ace Pilot near the Sledger will grant permanent hidden detection but it requires the Sledger to be in its secondary orange range. The Sledger can slowdown enemies from Level 0 and freeze enemies at Level 3+, when the enemy slowdown is higher than the Sledger's max slowdown. This makes it useful as a support tower, letting your towers deal more damage to enemies. This is especially effective against hordes of slow enemies, like the Slow Boss. At Level 5, it instantly freezes enemies when hit, making it even better at freezing. The Sledger can be useful against fast high-health enemies like the Fallen Tank or the Amalgamation due to their fast speed getting negated by the Sledger's freeze and slowdown. Be aware that enemies with Freeze Immunity cannot be frozen or slowed down, such as the Summoner Boss. While Boss enemies are immune to freeze by default, they are not immune to the chillness effect entirely unless they also have the Freeze Immunity. They can be slowed down, however, the effect will be much weaker than other enemies. You can also use stunning towers like the Electroshocker and Warden to slow them down even further, though this is generally not necessary.

Trivia
The Sledger old Level 2 icon used to be the same as the Archer's Level 3 icon. The Sledger used to share most of its upgrade icons with the Gladiator. The Sledger is the third melee tower to be added to the game, with the first being Gladiator, the second being Slasher, then Warden and Brawler were added after. The sound of the Sledger that hits an enemy was the same sound as the Vindicator when towers caught hit when using ability. The Sledger old Level 4 and 5 upgrade names are references to the Frost Invasion Event. The old Level 4 upgrade name, Outpost 32 Research, is a reference to the Outpost 32, a research facility used as a map for the Frost Invasion Event and the Operation I.C.E Event. The old Level 5 upgrade name, Into The Frost Dimension, is a reference to the dimension enemies from the Frost Invasion Event came from.
