Description
The Soldier is a starter ground tower that fires in bursts. It can be bought for 350 Coins in the store. The Soldier fires in bursts, with a short delay between each burst. It is a fairly cheap tower, making it recommended for use in earlier waves. It gains hidden detection at Level 2 and flying detection at Level 4 (Level 0 for PVP), so it is an effective counter against Hidden and Flying enemies. The Soldier is considered an early to mid-game tower. Later on during the game, its effectiveness dwindles against high health enemies, being outclassed by other towers with higher DPS.

Strategy
The Soldier is an effective early-game tower at Level 2, having high DPS for a cheap price. By mid-game, you should have multiple Level 3–4 Soldiers, as they can effectively kill enemies that appear there, such as the Dark Necromancer or Slow Boss. However, it loses value as the waves progress due to its DPS being too low to deal with high health enemies that appear later on during the game. It should not be relied on late-game if you have better towers and can be replaced by towers like the Minigunner or Ranger. The Soldier is able to change targets between bursts if another enemy enters its range. This avoids the need to swap targets from time to time. The Soldier's firerate can be boosted by the Commander. However, the Soldier's cooldown cannot be decreased. However, it is not recommended to prioritize this tower over higher DPS alternatives such as the Minigunner and Turret.

Patch history
When the game was in Alpha, and for a while after BETA release, the Soldier's upgrade stats were not displayed on its upgrade description. It was simply referred to as "sans gun". The Soldier's name and function is very loosely based on the Soldier from Tower Battles. The Soldier, along with the Turret, are the first towers to have toys made based on them. They are also the first to have mini-figures made based on them, as they appear in the Roblox Core Pack - Tower Defense Simulator. Prior to the Solar Eclipse Update, the Soldier alongside the Commander used to appear on the triumph screen.
