Behavior
An alpha wolf will wander aimlessly until the player gets within its detection range or does damage. If an alpha wolf has entered its passive state far enough away from their original spawn point, they will teleport back, creating a puff of smoke. If killed, an alpha wolf may respawn after a Day. Once an alpha wolf detects the player, it will chase them until either the player dies or escapes its detection radius. Upon getting close, an alpha wolf will attack the player. Sometimes, they may also run away a short distance away from the player after attacking. If an alpha wolf is attacked by a player's Pet, they will switch to targeting the pet until a player attacks them again. If a player has a Good Taming Flute or above, they can click on an alpha wolf to start the taming minigame. While the minigame plays, the alpha wolf will be docile. Once it has been completed, the alpha wolf will ask for a Steak, Mackerel and Salmon. The process must be repeated four times.
Drops
Upon death, an alpha wolf may drop the following Items: Killing the last guardian alpha wolf of a Locked Cave will also drop the following item
Tips
Melee weapons can be used to kill alpha wolves via strafing. If struggling to kill alpha wolves without taking damage, strong ranged weapons such as the Rifle can be used. Do not linger too long outside at night, besides wolves spawning on top of you, a whole horde of alpha wolves can spawn as well. Try not to fight large groups of alpha wolves as they can easily kill you. The alpha wolf is a widely hated entity in 99 Nights in the Forest because of its large detection radius. (Sometimes nicknamed as the ninja wolf as it can easily sneak up on players, and its also hated because they usually come in groups of 2-3 so you might have a hard time fighting them)
Trivia
The Alpha Wolf is widely considered the most annoying entity by many players in 99 Nights in the Forest. It's one of the most disliked entities in the game for its range of sight, grouping, and damage. The alpha wolf chases you way longer than the normal wolf because the alphas have way more detection range and slightly faster speed than wolf The alpha wolf has a glitch where it can sometimes randomly flip over. The alpha wolf is slightly faster than the regular Wolf, which is kind of obvious, but not too obvious. On low-end devices with higher ping or low framerate, this makes the alpha wolf faster than the player, making it basically a unescapable death. 2 Alpha Wolves will spawn near you in the Level 1 Campfire area when you try to help the Deer after feeding it. Alpha wolves that spawn on you during night time are untameable, therefore despawning on the next day When tamed, it looks the same as the tamed wolf.
