Appearance

Astro is a light aqua Toon with his face resembling a waning crescent moon. The right side of his face is pitch-black with a white star-shaped eye. He wears a cornflower blanket wrapped around his torso, obscuring his four arms to the point that they can be just seen as faint furrows in the blanket. However, his blanket is still short enough that it reveals his legs that are the same color as the crescent moon side of his face. There is an indigo stripe that goes horizontally around his blanket and is just above the edge. Underneath his blanket, he wears medium black shorts that are barely visible due to the blanket covering them, but previous versions of him never had the shorts. He wears a dangling sleeping cap the same color as the stripe on his blanket, with a light blue trim and a light blue pom-pom at the tip. During Blackouts, he emits a blue glow that changes color depending on the Skin equipped.

Personality

Astro is an introverted, shy, and calm Toon who likes to interact with his fellow Toons, albeit without leading conversations. He enjoys peace and quiet and could get agitated or standoffish when disturbed. However, he is never actually annoyed with his friends' actions' result, except. He speaks formally, but can easily break it if one manages to irritate him. Despite this, he has a slight playful, teasing side, like when he suggested to get into extra hobbies in a mocking tone. He's open to helping his friends with their issues, especially concerning dreams, giving Toons dreams he wants. However, he still helps in other ways like with, though he backs off when his help is rejected or diverted. In an interaction with, he tried to reassure her, but when she had an outburst, he quieted down. When got insistent on discussing his problems, Astro quickly caves in to his request to put it on hold. Conversely, he sometimes dismisses Toons' attempts to help him or offer him something, shown in interactions with and, instead favoring taking care of others. Astro appears to be camera-shy and dislikes being the center of attention or stared at, as seen in his interactions with and, the episode "Astro in Stage Fright", and the Gardenview rules disallowing photography of him. However, Astro does get slightly irritated in some conversations, or even doubting some of the Toons. Still, he stays calm and manages his emotions. In a conversation with he seems to be tired and slightly overwhelmed by her check in, and politely stops her from repeating herself.

Requirement Strategies

For the first requirement, focus on picking up Research Capsules and extracting Machines. The Machine and Capsule count increases the further you descend, so you can earn more. For the second requirement, have a Distractor Toon bring to the Elevator to you so you can get aggro. Playing as also helps getting Research faster because of his Passive Ability. This will be easier if Twisted Astro is on the Daily Twisted Board. For the third requirement, join a run which mainly focuses on Dandy runs. Do NOT buy from Dandy's Shop for every even Floor. You can also let a distractor bring to the Elevator during Panic Mode.

Strategies

Astro excels at Stealth and supporting others, so it's important to capitalize on that, considering a below-average Health stat. Due to having the highest Stealth in game, Astro can easily support Toons being chased by using, and make a quick getaway without risking damage. On top of that, after or while escaping a Twisted, Astro can regain lost Stamina much more quickly with his Passive Ability, Well Rested, which gives 3.6/s Stamina regeneration. Astro's main weaknesses are his low Health, which is due to him being a, his overall uninteresting Stat spread, and his below average extraction skills. Unlike other Main Character Toons, his Stats are much more well-rounded (Stealth aside). This means he doesn't excel at extracting Machines, but can do a decent job at it. Due to this, it is wise to take full advantage of Astro's high Stealth to avoid being chased in the first place, trying not to take any damage, and completing unsafe Machines right underneath Twisted's noses. As long as a Twisted has its eyes set on someone else (besides Connie, or when the said someone turns a sharp corner around Astro), it will effectively never re-target onto Astro unless he is the only viable target left. This doesn't mean that Astro should always avoid partaking in chases—his higher Stamina regen allows him to last a little longer than other Toons if managed well, so if you find an opportunity to lift a Twisted off of a teammate, don't let fear stop you. As for Items, Astro doesn't need many Stamina boosts because of his Well Rested Passive Ability, which is basically a permanent.

Patch history

Astro is designation M-002, with the M likely standing for. Astro's Toon Handler is. Astro's speech sound originates from Deltarune upon entering the Dark Worlds in Chapter 2. (This can be seen in this video, but in-game that sound is reproduced many times. Clear version of this sound can be seen in this video) Astro is a part of 's Book Club, along with Dazzle. Based on a 1988 photo found in the Greenhouse Floor, Astro and are heavily implied to be childhood friends. Their friendship is stated to be healthy, even after Gardenview's downfall. This is also implied in a picture found on the official merchandise website, where Dandy and Astro were looking at stars. This seems to be taking place in the Gardenview Lobby before it was painted and possibly before Gardenview opened. They might still be friends as they still talk to each other, even during the Ichor operation, as implied in one of his interactions with and, as well as some of the other Toon interactions such as and, but it isn't appreciated by all of them. According to his dialogue with, he and Dandy often chat about past episodes together, much to her lack of amusement. Astro appears nervous or worried about certain conversations that Connie may not have observed. It is theorized that Astro caught Dandy in his Twisted form, due to Astro's obtainment requirements and Dandy's dialogue when buying Astro, in addition to his dialogue with Pebble.
