Appearance
Brightney is a magenta, scalloped bell lampshade with a white trim on top. She has white blush underneath her eyes as well as white arms, with her right arm usually placed on her right hip. She has a slightly snatched waist, and her trapezoidal body & tips of her feet are slightly darker than the magenta on her lampshade. Her legs are the same shade of magenta as her lampshade, and underneath her lampshade is a white light bulb suspended by darker magenta poles and a long, white neck. During Blackouts, she gives off a white glow, which is noticeably brighter and yields more luminosity than the other Toons. Though her shoulders appear wider than the other female Toons, her Skin deconfirms this, revealing her body is built like the typical female Toon's body if the scarf were to be removed.
Personality
As shown in her dialogue and Introduction Card, Brightney is a smart and helpful Toon. Like her Active Ability suggests, she is skilled at solving problems, as well as helping Toons out. However, she may likely be overworked at times. Brightney seems to show her overworked side when she says, and which, when paired with the note in her Roleplay room with a to-do list, suggests a deeper side of being overworked. Despite this, she's always ready to help with whatever her fellow Toons ask of her, showing her personality as a hardworking and friendly Toon.
Requirement Strategies
For the first requirement, focus on picking up Research Capsules and extracting Machines. The Machine and Capsule count increases the further you descend, so you can earn more. For the second requirement, go to multiple runs and avoid choose the card, since it reduces the chances of a Blackout occurring.
Strategies
Brightney is a great All-Rounded Toon who is best utilized by those familiar with the game. It's recommended to use her if you feel confident in your skills, as her biggest drawback, while potent, can be turned into a strength if used well. Her low Stealth can also be used to save Toons who have a harder time getting out of chases, such as, and. Brightney works best during Blackouts. Her Active Ability, is an incredibly useful Blackout-exclusive tool. It counters the primary threat of Blackouts, information loss, and helps teammates stay alive in the dangerous environment. Brightney's light during Blackouts is also notably brighter and larger than all other Toons, granting her high visibility and giving teammates a great source of light. Brightney is ultimately the best Toon for countering Blackouts (though Vee comes extremely close), and can be crucial in helping the team. However, Vee may be a better option since she can highlight both Twisteds and Machines, albeit for only three seconds shorter than Brightney can highlight. Vee's cooldown is also five seconds longer, but that really doesn't affect much. Brightney's Blackout-countering Ability, high Extraction, and above-average mobility makes her one of, if not the best Toon for solo runs, as her low Stealth becomes nearly (but not completely) a non-factor with the absence of other players dragging Twisteds to your location. It is recommended to use Run Speed Trinkets to boost survivability as her Extraction is already good.
Patch history
Brightney's name is a mixture of the common girl name, "Britney" and the word, "bright". She fits both definitions of bright—as in literally emitting light from her lightbulb, and intellectually. Lightbulbs in cartoons also are often associated with ideas and intelligence. Similar to, Brightney doesn't wear shoes, as the lighter color is actually the soles of her feet. Brightney's low Stealth most likely references to how her bright light gives her away to Twisteds, similarly to her Twisted Counterpart's light. Brightney's interactions with and reaffirms this. Brightney has stated she is in a book club, the other Toons in this Book Club are and Dazzle. Brightney is the president of said book club, as proven by her interaction with. used to be in the book club, but likely due to his bad habit of eating books, he was kicked out. Brightney uses an incandescent light bulb, as shown in an interaction with. isn't highlighted when using Brightney's Active Ability. This remains true even when he is active. Brightney is 's favorite contestant, and the two seem to be on good terms. It is also implied that Brightney has back up batteries for Vee. In the Toon Rooms in Roleplay mode she has batteries on her nightstand, and in the "The Vee Virus" Episode Poster, Brightney is seen carrying a box with the same batteries. Vee needing Brightney's completed Mastery could reaffirm their friendship. This could also reflect their Active Abilities similarities, both highlighting Twisteds, them glowing on Blackouts, and their Statistic similarities (high extractability with low Stealth).
