Appearance

Dandy is a flower-like fictional species. His most defining features are his petals, having six that are individually red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple, in a clockwise order, with red being at the very top of his head. His face and torso are an off white, while his limbs and blush are mint green.

Personality

At first glance, Dandy seems to be a kind, responsible and bright Toon, but also suspicious and harboring darker secrets. Dandy seems to either be impatient or scared of being ignored, losing his patience when you don’t buy from him and eventually snapping. Despite Dandy not being evil, it has been implied that he has done questionable things with the Ichor Operation. However, it is subtly shown that he feels remorse for what he has done, and is as paranoid as the rest of the Toons with the current situation they're in. Dandy stays silent and says nothing other than when you buy, which implies he may feel remorse for his Twisted counterpart reveal. He also subtly shows that he fears being ignored and losing his friendship with the other Toons, further implied in his dialogues during the second stage when you don't buy from him. Yet, he tries to cover most of it up by acting like nothing happened after encountering his Twisted counterpart, trying to keep up his cheerful act. This could be a sign of him hiding his twisted form as an evidence. Despite this, Dandy is genuinely fond of some Toons, namely his pet rock and likely Astro. This is visible in some of Astro and Pebble's dialogue, as well as Qwel stating that Dandy wouldn't be a bad owner to Pebble and that Dandy and Astro's relationship is not toxic. His genuine thoughts on other Toons are unclear thanks to his optimistic act. Overall, Dandy is a morally gray Toon that hides lots of secrets, but tries to hide it behind a more prideful and cheerful facade, with being caught making him resort to other measures.

Gameplay

Dandy is a shopkeeper NPC who helps the Toons by selling Items to help them descend to the next floor. He always appears on even-numbered floors before the elevator opens and sells 3 random Items. Some Items can only be obtained through his shop while some can also appear on floors. However, if the Toons don't buy his items, he starts to get frustrated and will have a chance turn into his Twisted form after being ignored 3 times, being near guaranteed on the 4th time you ignore him. After his Twisted form appears, he will go back to normal. Dandy can also be seen in the lobby. When interacted with, his shop opens. In his shop, he sells Toons and Trinkets for Ichor. There is also an option in his shop for Gamepasses, which can be bought with Robux.

Patch history

Dandy's full name is Dandicus Dancifer, according to one of the loading screens, an interaction between and, a few of 's Gossip and an in-game ad for Dandy's Petals. The aforementioned interaction between characters only reveals Dandy's full first name, however. Dandy appears twice inside of Flavor Frenzy, the first time being on the Skate N' Dine map, but this version of Dandy is base of an early design meant for the scrapped 2022 game called "Dandy". Dandy's second appearance is in the Sinkhole Event as a silhouette, and if a player gets near him, he would jump into a hole and disappear while waving goodbye, he also plays 's talking sound. Dandy's designation is L-001, with the L standing most likely standing for Lead for his role in the Show or Lethal for his Twisted counterpart's rarity. Dyle, despite his Twisted counterpart being in the Lethal section, is not labeled as L-002, solidifying the fact that the L probably does not mean Lethal. It is implied that and Dandy were childhood friends, and possibly still are friends, but slowly distanced from each other after a while. In Astro's interaction with Teagan, Astro says that he doesn't talk to Dandy as much anymore for an unknown reason. In a 1988 photo, Dandy and Astro seem to have been friends for a long time since childhood. Dandy avoiding Astro likely has something to do with Astro's telekinesis, which allows him to see Dandy's dreams and therefore see his insecurities, and Dandy himself being aware of that.
