Appearance

It appears to be a regular fishing rod, with an orange handle that has black stripes, resembling 's life jacket, and a light blue fish that is attached where the hook should be. Whilst the Trinket is active, it highlights all Machines in a blue outline.

Strategies

Fishing Rod can be pretty useful for extractors, particularly those with high Movement Speed. You can make good use out of this Trinket by taking note of the general locations of the highlighted Machines and memorizing the paths to them, depending on the Floor. It can also help Toons with high speed, but low extraction Stats know where Treadmill Machines are, allowing them to contribute to their team more easily without slowing things down. A good way to memorize the Machine locations, is to count how many Machines are in each general area. For example you can count 2 Machines on the left side, 1 in the back, and 1 on the right side. Toons whose Ability activates from completing Machines can beeline straight to any Machine of their choice, without wasting Stamina or time searching. and can more easily gain their speed boosts, before zipping between Machines, while can drop more candy Items for herself or her team. Pairing this Trinket with can allow you to figure out which Machine to instantly complete, especially viable if you know the Floor layout. This is of course dependent on if you choose to use Vee's Remote to complete dangerous or far away Machines, though support Toons like or could use it to their advantage and use their Veemotes (albeit this renders them Trinket-less during the whole Floor). NOTE: s Active and Passive Abilities already highlight Machines, so it's redundant to use this Trinket on/with her.

Patch history

The toy fish in Fishing Rod's hook is not Barnaby Wilikers, 's toy fish. The fish being shown in the Trinket's render is light blue, while Barnaby is purple in default. If not counting, and, as they are present in their Toons' models, Fishing Rod is the second Trinket that doesn't match its respective Toon's color scheme, with the first being and, the third being, the fourth being, and the fifth being. However, you could count the light blue from the Fishing Rod's toy fish for Finn, the yellow from 's star in her hoodie for Lucky Coin, the red from 's nose for Festive Lights, and the red from 's half moon for Moon Pack Heirloom. Fishing Rod is the only Trinket to highlight Machines, and the second way overall, after both of 's Abilities. Prior to update 0.22.1, Fishing Rod used to give the player 3 random Items from the Common to Rare rarity (except Dandy's Shop Items) at the beginning of the run. (4 items if used on ). Oddly, Fishing Rod doesn't have an active-inactive cycle in-game, despite its functionalities alluding to one. This is especially odd when you consider similar Trinkets like and, which does go inactive 10 seconds after the Elevator opens/Panic Mode begins.
