When hooked, an exclamation iconwill appear above the players head and a shimmering sound is played, like all Secret fish.

The Ancestral Pliosaur will despawn after 10 minutes if not caught. When an Ancestral Pliosaur is caught, a message in chat will say: “[Pliosaur Hunt]: (user who caught the Ancestral Pliosaur) has caught the Ancestral Pliosaur!”
