The Ancient Depth Serpent is an Exotic fish obtainable at The Depths. Due to its high rarity, it makes for a challenging catch, moving erratically across the fishing bar. When reeling it in, -60% progress speed is inflicted. When hooked, a pops appears above the player's head, and a shimmering sound is played - as with all Exotic fish.

Obtainment
The Ancient Depth Serpent can be caught in a randomly spawning abundance spot in the water of The Depths in an Absolute Darkness event. The abundance is very small and only lasts for a few minutes, disappearing before the Absolute Darkness event ends itself. However, the spot glows a bright yellow, making it easier to find. On spawning, the message "The depths have grown darker!" is displayed near the player’s hot bar. When using the Fish Radar the spot is made more visible with a lime green area, with text to match it. The Ancient Depth Serpent's special event requirement and its erratic movement when catching makes it one of the rarest fish in the game.
