Ancient Megalodon is an Exotic fish found in the Ancient Isle.
The Ancient Megalodon is an Exotic fish that can be caught near Ancient Isle during a Megalodon Hunt. It has a 10% chance to spawn when this happens. When reeling it in, -85% Progress Speed is applied. When hooked, a will appear above the player's head, and a shimmering sound is played - as with all Exotic fish. The Ancient Megalodon despawns after roughly 12 minutes if it is not caught. Rods with weight limits between need the Herculean enchantment in order to catch the Megalodon, such as Crystalized Rod, Rod Of The Depths, Firework Rod and Luminescent Oath. Rods with weight limits between 40,000 - 49,999 Kg can use the Unbreakable enchantment instead, in order to catch the Megalodon, although a rod with these weight limits does not exist. 15% chance every frame to go on a "rampage", with the chance decreasing by 1.5% every attack until it reaches 7.5%. Reduces 35% of the current reeling progress, and shrinks the bar by 25% for 2 seconds.
Notes
The Ancient Megalodon is one of 6 sharks needed for the Poseidon Trial Pool. The other 5 sharks are the: Ginsu Shark, Icebeard Shark, Great Hammerhead Shark, Great White Shark, and a Whale Shark.

Patch history
The Ancient Megalodon is speculated to be a reference to the Shrouded Ghost Megalodon from the Sea of Thieves game (Only the ancient looks like it). Catching 3 Ancient Megalodons will grant the player the title. Megalodons were updated to have a minimum weight of when trying to catch it before the Herculean enchantment was introduced. Hence the Rod of The Depths could not catch a Megalodon and its different types anytime. As of update 1.15.0 the Rod Of The Depths could again catch the Megalodon and it's different types using the Herculean enchantment as with many other rods. Due to the Arctic Rod's nerf in 1.19.0, it can no longer catch Megalodons. The Ancient Megalodon is a skin in the popular Roblox game Forsaken. The Ancient Megalodon can now be traded in to the Apprentice Archeologist for an Invincible Relic.
