Quick answer

Fish the temporary Megalodon abundance behind Ancient Isle. Use a rod that can handle at least 50,000 kg and choose bait for either preferred luck or reel control.

Requirements

  • An active Megalodon Hunt and access to the abundance behind Ancient Isle.
  • A rod whose weight limit can handle the Megalodon's listed 50,000 kg minimum, or a suitable weight-limit enchantment.
  • Bait and rod control you can manage during the reduced-progress reel.

From event to catch

  1. Find the hunt

Watch for the Megalodon Hunt notice or use a Megalodon Hunt Totem if you have one. Travel to the marked abundance at Ancient Isle.

  2. Check your setup

The Steady Rod currently lists 250,000 kg max weight. Shark Head is a listed preferred bait and adds resilience; Deep Coral favors control.

  3. Cast in the marked abundance

The fish moves sharply and reduces reel progress speed. Keep it inside the control bar rather than expecting a stamina or crew mechanic.

Watch out

  • Rod of the Depths and Kraken Rod are not required. Check max weight before the hunt.
  • Quest-specific bait or rod rules do not apply to every Megalodon catch.

Sources and next checks

The Megalodon wiki entry documents the Ancient Isle hunt, preferred bait, weight range and rod options; the Steady Rod entry lists its purchase location. Game balance can change, so verify the live event and rod stats before spending.
