Red Herring has red scales, solid black dotted eyes, and a sharp shape. They share Demophon's model, but hue-shifted to be red.
Location
The 's current location is in front of the entrance to the basement in the Lobby, next to Investigative Iris. The 's second/old location was ontop of the closed entrance to the basement in one of the sides of the cabin of the Lobby, next to the Recorder and the lantern. The 's first/older location was behind the right side of the small cabin Investigative Iris is found in. Specifically, they were found lying on a dark green tarp next to a lantern.

The Red Herring is likely meant to symbolize the literary device of the same name. This likely suggests that there is a clue that the developers are attempting to mislead the audience from finding. What they might be misleading about is unknown and unconfirmed as of now. Red Herring and Demophon are most likely are the same species. The Red Herring used to be behind the cabin where Investigative Iris is. There's a chance that the Red Herring moves from place in the Lobby every major update, although this is unconfirmed. Overall, this NPC has been moved 3 times. In Red Herring's first location, there is now a purple tinted dog picture ball, the same photo for the render for the Valliant skins.
