Getting Started

Every Character in The Strongest Battlegrounds (2026)

Updated Jul 14, 2026

TSB's roster is small on purpose — every character is a full "moveset" with 4 base moves and 4 more in Awakening Mode, so each one takes real time to master. Here's the full lineup and how you unlock each fighter.

Free characters

Everyone gets these from the character menu (top-left head icon; D-Pad down on console):

  • The Strongest Hero (Saitama) — the original character. Simple, brutal close-range strings and the game's most unique ultimate: one devastating move per awakening.
  • Hero Hunter (Garou) — counter-heavy martial artist whose awakening shifts him toward his monster form.
  • Destructive Cyborg (Genos) — ranged blasts and burn pressure; punishes from further away than anyone.
  • Deadly Ninja (Sonic) — the community's consensus best character: fastest kit, easiest combo extensions, deepest tech.
  • Brutal Demon (Metal Bat) — armor-through-hits brawler; trades health for momentum.
  • Blade Master (Atomic Samurai) — precise slash strings with huge combo damage when spaced right.
  • Wild Psychic (Tatsumaki) — telekinetic zoning and displacement tools.
  • Martial Artist (Suiryu) — stylish kick-fighter with strong mixups.
  • Tech Prodigy — gamepass character, widely considered the strongest kit in the game.
  • Undying Hero — early-access gamepass character.
  • Sorcerer (Gojo) — only usable in V.I.P./private servers with the Private Server+ gamepass.
  • KJ — limited/exclusive; usable in private servers or by topping donations.
  • The Frozen Soul — a limited character that is no longer normally playable.

Which should you main?

Start with The Strongest Hero to learn M1 strings and dash spacing, then move to the character whose range you like: Deadly Ninja for speed and tech, Destructive Cyborg to fight from range, Brutal Demon if you like tanking through trades. Every free character can win at high level — execution beats the pick.
