The Lava Eel is a consumable item. It gives (🍴) when eating it raw and gives (🍴🍴) when cooked, filling up the hunger bar by about 30% (20-24% if uncooked). It deals damage to the player when consumed raw and it can be cooked at the Campfire or by storing it in an Infernal Sack, Lava Eel was added during the Volcano update.

How to get it

Scavenge it from the forest, loot cultist camps, or craft it at camp.

Obtainment

The Lava Eel can only be obtained by fishing on the Lava Pond in the Volcanic Biome This is a biome-exclusive pond that will only spawn in the Volcanic Biome. The list of fishes you can catch by using this pond has been given below: Lava Eel Lionfish There are certain requirements that must be met in order to locate this pond. The requirements are listed below: This pond is exclusive to the Volcanic Biome. This pond has a 1/2 chance to spawn due to the Snow Biome. It is recommended to be careful while fishing here, as there's a risk of falling in and taking damage.

Trivia

It is considered non-vegetarian, hence players who want to get the Vegetarian Badge must not eat this. It can be used in the Crock Pot and the Biofuel Processor. It can be used to make a Seafood Chowder, when the player is using the Chef Class. It is also considered to be not a fish- at least for daily quests. Whenever there is a daily quest that requires catching anything other than a fish, catching a Lava Eel is enough.
