Appearance

The Tyrant of the Skies has a muscular build alongside brown spikey hair, a red vest, blue and gold shorts as well as black boots. He also wields the Flail, a golden bird-like helmet (Feathered Visage), and tribal tattoos. The Tyrant's massive wings are red, yellow and blue with glowing stripes.

Spawning

The Tyrant of the Skies can be spawned at the Tiki Outpost by completing the following puzzle: The player must kill 300 enemies at the Tiki Outpost until both falcon statues' eyes start glowing red. Each eye requires 75 kills to glow, with 4 eyes totaling to 300 kills. Once all four eyes are glowing, the player must then break every pot in the boss area three times in order to summon the boss. The eyes will never stop glowing until the Tyrant is summoned. Notes All enemies killed at the Tiki Outpost contribute to the total kill count. Once the Tyrant spawns, three things happen: The boss area turns to a bright yellow hue. The Tiki Outpost's name changes to Liberation of Tiki Outpost. The background music changes to Lizard Bandit Clan. There is no cooldown or limit to respawn the Raid Boss after its defeat. Sometimes it is possible that there is no breakable pots as they are set randomly.

Tips & Tricks

If there are currently no Elite Pirates in the server, the Elite Hunter can give a quest to defeat the Tyrant if he's been spawned, which gives the player some bonus rewards. The Tyrant rewards the player with 6 whole levels upon its defeat, making it quite effective for levelling up. Fight with at least 5 players for efficiency's sake. Having Awakened Buddha and being at Max Level can reduce this need. If you’re a lower level, invest more stats into fighting style and defense. Using Awakened Buddha and a good fighting style, you can solo/duo the raid boss even if you’re not max level. It is recommended to server hop to quickly find a server that has not spawned the Tyrant recently. If the player’s server has an exploiter in Tiki Outpost grinding, there is a high chance the player can just destroy the pots, making spawning him much easier.

Patch history

The Tyrant is seemingly inspired by and the Aztec culture, as he is associated with a lot of Aztec-esque imagery. The Tyrant has the highest health out of any Raid Boss. (Outside all Event Raid Bosses.) The Tyrant is the only enemy that can fly. He is also the first and only main game boss that uses a Beast fruit, second being the Unbound Werewolf. The statues required to summon the Tyrant resemble falcons more than eagles, possibly referencing the Eagle fruit rework which happened in Update 26. The Tyrant and the Core are the only NPCs in the entire game who can drop a Blox Fruit, with The Tyrant dropping either Eagle and/or Gravity, and the Core dropping any random Fruit. The Tyrant uses the Flail, but doesn't actually use any of its moves and instead just uses most of eagles skills excluding soaring talon and wind burst.
