Appearance

Looey is made out of balloons, with his head and torso being yellow. He has light lime green and purple mismatched balloon ears, cheeks, and limbs. The left ear, left leg, right cheek and right arm are purple, while the right ear, right leg, left cheek and left arm are green. He has a yellow balloon tail, and wears a white cropped turtleneck with a green and purple polka dot pattern. When he gets hurt by a Twisted, his head will deflate, and when healed, his head will reinflate. His ears also cartoonishly disconnect from his head as it gets smaller.

Personality

Looey is a jolly, comical Toon who's a part of a circus troupe alongside his friends and. Though he may be a clown, he knows when things must be taken seriously. Despite being a performer, capable of entertaining live audiences with his hard work, he very ironically seems to have a more shy and nervous side that is most noticeable within his extraction lines and dialogues. Even more ironically, he is hinted to have stage fright, something a performer should not have (admitting this to and hoping nobody was watching him finish extracting). As yet another ironic contradiction to his supposed disliking of socializing, he seems to genuinely enjoy getting along with the other Toons and making sure they're happy. But contradictions aside, he seems to be themed after the trope where a comical character masks their rough inner workings behind a wall of laughter, joy and surprises.

Requirement Strategies

For the first requirement, focus on picking up Research Capsules and extracting Machines. The Machine and Capsule count increases the further you descend, so you can earn more. For the second requirement, play as and try to complete her Mastery Quests by going on multiple runs. It is recommended to go on an organized Run or do specific quests in certain runs.

Strategies

Looey is an excellent All-Rounded Toon that can distract or extract. With low Stealth and a great Passive Ability that increases his Movement Speed per lost, he's excellent at leading Twisteds around, and his above-average Skill Check Stat is helpful for extracting Machines. His Passive Ability, Heart of Helium, greatly increases distracting capabilities, however, it also increases the risk factor while using him. Heart of Helium increases his speed by 20% for each Heart that he's currently missing, allowing him to reach higher speeds than even under certain circumstances. Looey is also faster than average at completing Machines, giving him a great utility on a team even if he plays as a distractor. On only one Heart, Looey is the fastest Toon in the game and can easily outrun and other fast Twisteds if the player has good Trinkets in use. The most used Trinket on Looey is, which gives him 10% extra Walk Speed, and even more when paired with (15.5%), or (both 21% depending on Floor number). Even without Trinkets, Looey can already out-walk average or slow Twisteds on 2 Hearts, and can almost do the same to every Twisted on one Heart (outside of Panic Mode) aside from, enraged, in a Blackout, and Twisted Pebble. However, and her could make it a bit harder to distract, especially when on 1 Heart, the exception is if Looey has equipped making Twisted Vee more easy to distract on 2 Hearts.

Patch history

Looey is the only Toon to have their Introduction Card have a quote and to be made up of two bodies of text. Looey's head will be shrunken if you are on 2, and even more if 1 Heart. During then, his ears cartoonishly disconnect from his head. However, the ears disconnecting could just be a modeling error. Looey on 1 Heart with the Movement Speed buff from and or gives a Run Speed multiplier of 72.48%, which gives a Run Speed of 43.12, making him the fastest Toon in the game without any Items and/or supports. When given 3 s with the Movement Speed buff and 7 of 's Ability, you would get a theoretical Run Speed multiplier of 2675.76%, which gives a run speed of 668.94. Previously, his Ability was intended to increase 1 for Movement Speed (2.5 units) for each missing Heart, but a bug caused Looey to increase Movement Speed by 20% (3 units for Walk Speed and 5 units for Run Speed). The Ability's description was later changed, making it an actual feature. This makes him faster than, and (on odd floors) at 1 Heart. If their Ability did add 1 Star for each missing Heart (in percentage values), at 2 Hearts their Movement Speed would need to be increased by ≈16.67% (Walk Speed) and 10% (Run Speed). While at 1 Hearts his Movement Speed would need to be increased by ≈33.34% (Walk Speed) and 20% (Run Speed). Looey was the hardest character to balance; figuring out how much speed Looey would get after getting hit was the most challenging part. It would get to the point where it would be impossible for any Twisted to damage him. Looey and are friends.
