Twisted Dandy

Overview^[1]

Twisted Dandy is a massive, dangerous roaming Twisted that wanders the halls aimlessly. Reflecting his enigmatic Toon counterpart, he has a unique spawning condition that must be met before he has a chance to spawn: players must not buy any Item from Dandy's Store for at least three Floors that Dandy appears on. Each time every surviving Toon skips a shop, Dandy will become increasingly upset. Upon skipping the third shop in a row, Dandy will become angry and Twisted Dandy will have a chance to spawn at a rate of 20%. On every subsequent shop players skip, this chance will increase. On the third time that you continue to ignore him (the sixth Floor), the music in his Shop will stop playing, and Twisted Dandy actually has a chance to spawn on the next Floor. The TV in the elevator will flash with Dandy's logo when he has a chance to spawn. Once this occurs (or if a player purchases an Item from his Shop), he will go back to his cheerful self, and players must skip another three shops in order to have a chance at spawning Twisted Dandy again. Twisted Dandy continuously emits the sound of a distorted version of music box 'Clair de Lune', and he makes stomping noises as he walks. These sounds are loud enough that they can be used to determine his location and if he has spawned on a Floor before the Elevator has opened. When a Toon fails a Skill Check or completes any Machine, Twisted Dandy will immediately charge towards that Machine unless another Toon has his attention. If he doesn't find a Toon at the location of the Machine, he will go back to wandering the Floor.

Mechanic: Twisted Dandy is alerted to completed Machines, along with instantly killing anyone he attacks, like any other Lethal.

Appearance

Twisted Dandy has a flower head with six petals that correspond to his Toon counterpart's colors. His face is an off white, while his limbs and the smeared blush are mint green. His shoulders, chest, stomach, legs, and feet are covered in Ichor. Twisted Dandy's back is hunched, like a cat's when it stretches. He has two loops of film taped wrapped around his stomach and lower back, as well as two lodged into his upper back. His legs appear to possess hooves. His arms are white, fading into a light spring green by his forearms, and has two loops of Tapes around them. Two Tapes are also jammed into each arm. He has red, orange, and yellow claws on his right paw and green, blue, and purple claws on his left paw. These claws are long, pointed and match his petals. He has an open smile which turns more excited upon chasing a Toon.

Strategy

Make sure that all players are on the same page before attempting to spawn Twisted Dandy. Since Dandy's Shop is an important source of Items that will be fully off-limits while attempting this, try to avoid bringing Toons that are more reliant on Items such as and, as they'll have a much harder time surviving. If you do intend to bring them, try to alert them to helpful Items found on Floors and reserve extra for them. As Twisted Dandy is attracted to completed Machines from anywhere on the map, try to prime one or two to complete as bait if you see him drawing close to a poorly-equipped teammate. Priming means to fill a Machine to be almost complete, but not fully completed. Do not prime Machines near the Elevator (unless you can wait for him to be on the other side of the map) when he is present, as having him run there during Panic Mode is the last thing you want. Instead, prime a Machine that is either far away from or out of sight of the Elevator and have a teammate with a high Extraction Speed complete it once the other Machines are done; conversely, if you trust your teammates, prime many Machines near each other and finish them all at once in order to minimize the amount of time you spend running back and forth. Once you complete any Machine while Twisted Dandy is present, duck behind cover or take the long way around to escape; his pathfinding will prioritize the shortest route towards it. Even if Teagan, Sprout, or Ginger aren't present in your party, it's still recommended to pick up any Tapes you find.

Patch history

Twisted Dandy and share some similarities. Their similarities are likely due to them being both Twisteds. This means that they have the ability to insta-kill any Toon attacked by them. If you check the game files, it says that they remove 99 from Toons. Before Twisted Dyle was added, Twisted Dandy would remove 3 Hearts only. This was also most likely changed due to the addition of, who naturally has 4 Hearts due to his Passive Ability, Knightly Armor. This could reflect their Toon counterparts' Health of 99 Hearts. Despite this, they won't be able to attack you if you have invincibility frames from being hit by another non-Lethal Twisted or from. This is why 's designation is L-001, as Dandy is the first Lethal. The L could also mean Leader, possibly noting his role in the Show. Both their Toon counterparts aren't accessible to the public. Both their Research descriptions don't tell any of their mechanics, but a part of their lore instead. Both the lower part of their bodies got completely covered in Ichor and seem to resemble an animal. Dyle's resembles a snake, while Dandy's resembles what appears to be a combination of a large cat and an equine (horse). Dandy is shown to act catlike in this short, as shown by him pawing/kneading the air and rolling around in tapes as if they were catnip. They both crawl. They both spawn in unique ways. Twisted Dandy has a chance to spawn if you don't buy from Dandy's Shop thrice in a row, and Twisted Dyle spawns when the Card is chosen. They both have rainbow claws on their hands.
